Susi McCune Memorial Library identity assets
Production edition 2.0
October 26 2026

Use the SVG masters for websites, signs and scalable print. All illustration and
lettering in these SVG files is editable vector geometry. There are no embedded
images or external font dependencies. Vector PDF exports are also supplied.

The PNG exports have transparent backgrounds and are 4000 pixels wide. At 300
pixels per inch they support reproduction up to about 13.3 inches wide. Use the
SVG or vector PDF for larger signs. Do not enlarge a PNG as a substitute for the
vector master.

Available variants
  susi-library-primary Stacked full-color identity
  susi-library-horizontal Wide full-color identity
  susi-library-symbol Illustration without lettering
  susi-library-purple Single deep-purple full identity
susi-library-reverse White full identity for a deep-purple background

Use the symbol beside readable full-name text in small website headers. The
complete identity must not be squeezed into a tiny sponsor slot. Suggested
minimum digital widths are 280 pixels for the primary, 440 pixels for the wide
identity, and 120 pixels for the symbol. Retain generous clear space around the
visible artwork. The companion guide uses ten percent of the artwork width as
its working minimum.

The illustration is a production refinement of the existing memorial artwork,
retaining its open book, heart, flowing thread and violet flower. Original-v1.png
is the preserved original, not the new production master. This artwork is not a
historical emblem or a work attributed to Susi McCune.

The display and supporting typography use outlined Nimbus Roman Regular and
Nimbus Sans Regular glyphs from the locally installed URW Base35 package. Font
binaries are not included. FONT-LICENSE.txt preserves the installed package's
original copyright and licensing notice. The asset manifest records hashes,
dimensions, typefaces and the original source identity.

To rebuild from the editable source, run build_susi_assets.py in an environment
with Python 3, fontTools, the named URW Base35 fonts, and Inkscape installed.
It defaults to original-v1.png beside the script. Use --original and
--output-dir for other source and destination paths. Fonts resolve through
fontconfig or known system directories; explicit --serif-font and --sans-font
paths are also supported. Keep the named fonts rather than substituting type.
The SVG and PNG geometry is deterministic; PDF metadata timestamps can vary.
Exports are replaced atomically to avoid partially written assets during builds.
