A PLACE. AN AGREEMENT. A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY.

Good neighbors.
A lasting record.

A purple post can hold more than a boundary label. It can preserve an agreement, tell a place’s story, and invite the next person to care for it.

Spark House is to the west

of these survey markers.

01 / THE WORDS THAT STAY

Keep the inscription timeless.
Let the record grow.

Use one permanent commemorative plaque and a smaller, replaceable connection plaque. Each post keeps its own identity as information is added.

Story · Survey reference · Care

QR production proof: install only after the printed address is live and the finished plaque passes an outdoor phone scan test. NFC is optional and must be tested on the metal post.

  • Permanent ID and west-side wording remain readable without a phone.
  • The agreement date is engraved only after confirmation.
  • Names and dedications appear only with each person’s permission.

EASTSurvey marker lies east of the proposed witness post.

Orientation only. Not a map, measurement or boundary determination.

A witness post helps identify survey evidence. The post, QR code and phone location do not establish or change a legal boundary.

03 / A RECORD PEOPLE CAN TRUST

The agreement is a beginning.
Care carries it forward.

A useful memorial preserves what was agreed, how it was identified, and the people who helped care for the place. Every addition should retain its source and date.

A few practical questions

Why keep the QR code separate from the memorial wording?

The permanent inscription can stay in place while the smaller connection plaque is replaced if damaged. The address should remain on sparkworks.org so hosting can change without changing the printed code.

What will be added to a verified marker record?

The agreement reference, survey document and point, monument type and cap text, measured witness offset with units and direction, installation date, exposed height, approved photographs, inspection history and permission-based acknowledgments. Exact coordinates, if used, need their coordinate system, method and accuracy.

Can a scan or a phone map prove the boundary?

No. This experience explains and preserves the evidence. It does not replace the signed agreement, official survey or professional field verification. A phone’s location is not survey evidence.

Can information be corrected later?

Yes. Use the marker report or heritage contribution route, include the marker ID and your source, and ask for review. Keep the earlier version and the reason for the correction in the authorized records.
